Creating Memories with KB

CREATING MEMORIES WITH KB

It’s 4 AM, and time to leave for the shoot at Lodhi Garden, New Delhi. The camera gear is packed in the trunk, water bottles sit snug in the car’s cup holders, and the driver is ready to go. But wait—something’s missing.

Kaushlesh’s pajamas!

While a calm and composed Bhavna is getting ready for a leisurely morning walk (to be followed by a well-earned breakfast), a frantic Kaushlesh is tearing through the house in search of an ironing table and a press for his kurta and—of course—his missing pajamas. Frustration mounts, and in his distress, he devours half a dozen slices of fruit cake before sunrise. The Gopala fruit cake is delicious … but it also makes him burp like a misfiring Kolkata auto-rickshaw. Between burps, he mumbles something about being on a strict pre-wedding diet.

And then, just as panic peaks—he realizes he’s been wearing his pajamas the entire time. Good morning, Kaushlesh!

Meanwhile, Bhavna, ever the patient one, is ready to go—though there’s a hint of nervous excitement in her demeanor.

At 4:30 AM, we finally hit the road, reaching Lodhi Garden by 5. As soon as we arrive, we are greeted by an unexpected guest—a big, fluffy dog who instantly takes a liking to Bhavna and decides to photobomb nearly every shot. Just as we are adjusting, we hear loud splashes from a nearby pond. A large flock of ducks seems to be in their morning huddle (or perhaps deep in meditation?). We respect their space and move on, scouting the perfect spot to begin the shoot.

This album is our attempt to capture the love, laughter, and little quirks that make KB so special. However, we quickly realize that this shoot will have to be done in two phases—because within an hour, KB are famished.

And that’s how we found ourselves at Mysore Café — our gastronomical savior for the morning. Few things in life bring as much joy as the perfect dosa and coffee after an early morning shoot, and the sheer bliss on KB’s faces after that meal? Now that was a moment worth capturing. Of course, through it all, the Kolkata auto-rickshaw kept misfiring.
